Case Study Kraft Heinz - Term Contract
Picow Electrical Engineering Limited is a resident electrical contractor for Heinz – Kitt Green site, where we have been the incumbent contractor for 15 years.
The Kraft Heinz site at Kitt Green Wigan is Europe’s largest food production facility and requires substantial input from Picow’s engineers to ensure there are no interruptions to production.

Our site based engineers are responsible for some day to day reactive maintenance works along with facilitating large capital projects.
Recent capital projects undertaken at Heinz Kitt Green include Project Rhino which include the installation of power, control and instrumentation to a packing line within Warehouse No.1. A Site wide Emergency Lighting Upgrade including modification of existing luminaire to energy efficient LED fittings. Rewiring the Can Making facility is a project which is currently ongoing for which we have been employed as the CDM Principle Contractor.
Due to the technical and logistical nature of the site a flexible approach is required by the company and our operative team. Strategic planning and co-ordination with the client is essential to ensure the minimum amount of disruption to production is achieved. Our engineers liaise closely with Heinz engineers to guarantee a smooth transition during maintenance and capital projects.
Picow have a site based team whom have a strong understanding of working within a food production facility and the standards required. This understanding is implemented to the highest level, in-keeping with Heinz quality requirements and specifications.
