Case Study Llandudno Station - Refurbishment
Llandudno Station in North Wales was remodelled and refurbished to cope with the demands of the modernised railway infrastructure. A new glazed concourse area was constructed along with new car parking and public transport interchange facilities. Careful consideration was undertaken during the design stage to ensure the alterations complied with the regulations of the town’s Victorian Town Conservation Area.

In association with the Main contractor, Buckingham Group, Picow undertook a variety of electrical and mechanical installation works throughout the project.
Our electrical division were responsible for the all electrical aspects of the project including external works to the platform and car park lighting, station lighting and all LV sub distribution.
Improving the energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint of the station was a priority for this project. This was achieved through the installation of energy efficient lighting and control system.
Our mechanical engineers were entrusted with the installation of air conditioning and all sanitary ware throughout the station. A full ventilation system was installed throughout the station building complete with all air handling and heat exchange units.
Both the public and staff toilets were fully refurbished to modernise the facilities, including a specialist height adjustable washbasin within the public toilet area. Our engineers were responsible for the installation of all sanitary ware and associated pipework incorporating the integration into the existing utilities services.
