Case Study Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital
PICOW has undertaken a substantial electrical refurbishment project on behalf of Mitie Engineering, at Ysbyty Gwynedd Bangor Hospital.
The Hospital serves the North West area of Wales and is the largest hospital in the region. Following a survey and subsequent recommendations, the North West Wales Trust were advised the existing electrical infrastructure posed a risk and should be upgraded.

Due to the critical operational nature of the hospital, the project was logistically challenging for our management and operatives. Meticulous planning of all works was undertaken between ourselves and the main contractors to ensure there were no adverse effect to the functionality of the hospital.
PICOW were responsible for the installation of all electrical containment, LV Switchrooms, Generator control cables, Medical IPS System, Fire Alarm, SCADA System, LV Cabling and earthing. Many of the works involved working within operational, sensitive areas of the hospital such as SCBU and theatre areas. A great deal of care was taken to ensure there was no disruption caused to the hospital.
PICOW were responsible for undertaking mechanical alterations throughout the project to enable new LV Switchroom construction to be undertaken.
