Challenge
Our client, a renowned consumer goods company, proposed a new state-of-the-art production facility at their Warrington site in order to cater for a brand new product to the marketplace. This ambitious endeavour involved the construction of a new process plant within an existing multi-storey building. The primary challenge of this project being that it was across seven floor levels of the factory. With Picow being a site based term contract supplier of project and maintenance works, with a wealth of site knowledge and trust, our client opted for Picow to deliver construction, electrical and pneumatic works to help bring this project to life!

Solution
One of the first challenges faced by Picow was the removal of redundant equipment and structures across all seven floors of the factory. This crucial step allowed for a clean slate, enabling the installation of the new process plant by eliminating obsolete elements. As part of the main works Picow went on to provide a significant steel support structure for new plant, completed the forming of large openings between all floor levels, fitted new partition walling and cladding and completed the full electrical, control and instrumentation including associated pneumatics throughout the whole of the new facility.

Outcome
This project stands as a testament to Picow’s expertise in the Chemical sector. Working collaboratively with our client we have a achieved a significant result is what was logistically one of the most difficult projects we have ever completed in managing and co-ordinating works efficiently and safely. One of the most difficult task being the forming of large penetrations between all seven floors. This was a significant undertaking and one which carried the obvious safety implications that needed careful planning and co-ordination of all work activities in the surrounding area.
