Challenge
To provide the necessary Mechanical and Electrical building service to convert this new super distribution warehouse into a state of the art packaging manufacturing facility was the challenge put to Picow. This project was single sourced to Picow through our reputation and word of mouth alone. Early engagement was key to meet our clients ambitious production “go live” dates with our services design beginning immediately with numerous third party suppliers to engage with from various parts of the world.

Solution
Based on the performance and specification requirements of the new manufacturing facility, Picows final scope of works included full gas distribution including the installation of high level gas heating with destratification fans and temperature controls, a 2500A LV distribution system including temporary LV power enabling works, power and control to all line equipment, cable management systems and intelligent Smart LED LoBay lighting. As process equipment arrived, Picow also assisted with critical minor works to bring some part of the control systems up to British Standards

Outcome
Clever co-ordination of services in some tight areas along walls and in and around the process lines was key to the success of the project. This was only possible through early engagement with time to plan and understand the requirements of all key stakeholders on the project delivery team. All main M&E services especially the high level heating systems, were installed well ahead of schedule and prior to the arrival on site of the process line install teams, allowing for uninterrupted safe access and a seamless line assemble towards commissioning activities.
